A Second Comfort Dog Is Coming

Eternal Shepherd is building Team 2 — a second LCC K-9 Comfort Dog ministry to share Christ’s mercy, compassion, and presence with more of our neighbors.

Why a Second Comfort Dog?

Eternal Shepherd is in the process of welcoming a 2nd LCC Comfort Dog. Seth, our current Comfort Dog, has been serving the Seneca area with his team since April 2019.

God has blessed this ministry beyond what we imagined — nursing homes, schools, hospitals, and people in crisis have all felt the love of Christ through a wagging tail and a quiet presence. The doors keep opening, and we want to walk through more of them.

We would like to continue this special ministry work for years to come. That means building a second team, training a second Top Dog, and bringing home a second Comfort Dog to serve alongside Seth.

Could You Be a Member of Our New Team?

Do you have a passion for sharing God’s love — and a love of dogs? There’s a place for you on Team 2.

Caregiver

Provide a loving home where our Comfort Dog can relax, recharge, and be part of a stable daily routine. Caregivers offer the foundation that makes this ministry possible — a safe, quiet place to come home to between visits.

  • Welcome the Comfort Dog into your home
  • Provide consistent daily care and routine
  • Be a steady, loving presence

Handler

Go out into the community with our Comfort Dog to bring peace, comfort, and hope to schools, churches, hospitals, and people in crisis. Handlers help share God’s love in powerful, personal ways alongside our Comfort Dog.

  • 18 years or older, and a Christian
  • Does not need to be a member of Eternal Shepherd
  • Holds the leash and manages the dog’s behavior on visits

Military & First Responders

Are you a military service member or first responder — active or retired — interested in serving in another way? Help us bring God’s love and comfort to these groups with your special background and perspective.
